Monkey Mia!!!

Today (5th Feb for us) we got up really early and went to Monkey Mia to see dolphins (not monkeys!) on the beach! A ranger did a talk about a hurt dolphin that had got bitten by a shark called ‘Surprise’, and then they called out some people to feed the dolphins.

And guess who got picked?!

That’s right, me (and Alice) got chosen to feed one of the dolphins called ‘Piccolo’ (although it didn’t actually eat the fish, it did come very close to me!). We also saw a turtle!

Also, as we were on our way to the cafe to get a coffee, we were greeted by a wild emu. It wandered around the cafe and then ran off. Very odd!

Dolphins-best-friend,

Barnaby 🙂

  1. Greetings Dent Family – Wow you are really doing all the amazing things there are to do in Australia. Funny, having lived in England for almost twenty years now (having lived in Australia for 10 years before that) I can look back with fresh eyes at that remarkable country. Thanks for bringing it all alive to us over here. We are really enjoying the stories and photos. And soooooo envious of you all off exploring! (We are going skiing on the artificial slopes in the Mendips today – so not even the cold gives us an authentic cold climate experience – ha!) Love the reference to Monkey Mia not having any monkeys Barnaby…. You’ve inherited your dads “humour”. Have to say the lunar eclipse photos were awesome Simon – even if you didn’t think so. Loving the stories… and love to you all from the Truscott-Coopers

    1. Hi Liesl how are you? I think Australia has moved on a bit since you’ve been there (sorry..). Thanks for the love, no statues of where you lived though…
