Clearly I had planned being in WA to co-incide with the Lunar Eclipse. Thanks to those who pointed out it was happening!
We were lucky enough to sit on a near deserted beach, and watched the sunset, the Moon rise and then the shadow of the earth cover the moon, leaving a murky red moon. Then we went back indoors.
I’ve attached a couple of photos of before and nearly total coverage (its difficult to get a focussed image, with a handheld camera)

As the “moonlight” faded, the view of the stars was amazing!
Fab pictures! Love getting all your photos and updates guys. Looks like you’re having a blast! What fantastic memories you’ll have of Oz. XXX

OK dear team Dent, we love you. As it happens, we had a lovely moon here in Bath last night. But not actually an eclipse. So could you just help us out? No rows? No unexpected hitches in arrangements? No “eeurgh this is revolting I want to go home and see my FRIENDS”? No lost garments, lost chargers, lost wallets, lost people? (Note order.) Please, just a glimpse of less than perfection?? Otherwise, set up a “Family Travel Can Be Fun” company when you come back……
